I went to the Pike River in Amberg, northeast of Wisconsin, 220 miles away from Madison.
At first, I went to the north branch of the river to check if I can fish there but it was too small to fish there.
There are several waterfalls in the north branch, and I went a little way further to the Tweleve Foot Falls. It was also small stream.
Then I went to the main branch and started fishing. There was no fisherman except me. I caught a brook trout miraculously. It's not large, 9 inches, but beautiful color.
I drove more than 10 hours for this fishing trip today.
