I fished my usual spot. The gin clear water and the bright sunshine make trout spooky. I had no luck.
I moved up to another access point I've never fished before. The water run through a pasture and woods.
I caught a small brown by #12 prince nymph in the woods area. I saw mayflies and some small trout rose to them.
Blue-winged olive I tied a could year ago didn't work. I changed my fly to #16 elk hair caddis and it caught a small rainbow.
I should have caught today's trout by mayfly patterns...
